Dr Jo Chen received her undergraduate medical degree from the University of New South Wales before training in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. After she was awarded her Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), She further advanced her training by having completed local and international fellowships in the area of inflammatory bowel disease at Concord Hospital and in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation in Vancouver, Canada. She also completed a postgraduate degree in Master of Philosophy (Medicine) in the area of inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr Chen provides comprehensive detailed consultations and endoscopy services, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, both in the private practice and at public hospital. She is currently a VMO at Norwest Private Hospital, Strathfield Private Hospital, and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. Dr. Chen practices up-to-date evidence based and personalised medicine. She keeps her knowledge and endoscopy skills uptodate by regularly attending both local and international conferences.

Dr Chen provides care for patients in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the digestive and gastro-intestinal tract and liver. She is approachable and seeks clarification with a desire to understand the concerns of her patients’. Her care is empathetic which helps patients’ cope effectively with diagnosis and their illness.

Dr Chen’s areas of special interests are colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel diseases, liver diseases, Helicobacter pylori infection and iron deficiency anaemia.

Dr Chen has also been involved in the training of the younger generation of doctors. She served as the Acting Director of Physician Education at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital in 2018. She was also the Lead Examination Organiser and organised the annual FRACP Adult Medicine Clinical Examination at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital in 2018. She continues to be involved in the education and training of the junior doctors at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.

Dr Titi Chen

Consultant Nephrologist

Dr Chen is a passionate clinician, medical educator, and kidney health promotion advocator. She graduated from the Australian National University School of Medicine, and completed her nephrology specialist training in Westmead and Liverpool Hospitals. She is a consultant nephrologist at Westmead Hospital and clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney School of Medicine.

Dr Chen is experienced in the management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, dialysis, and transplantation. Her expertise in the area has been recognised through many publications in premier peer-reviewed journals such as the Medical Journal of Australia and Kidney International. She has also authored nephrology textbooks and is a regular presenter at international and national conferences. Additionally, Dr Chen acts as a reviewer for nephrology journal articles and competitive government grants. She has been awarded many awards in recognition of her achievement, including Royal Australasian College of Physicians Jacquot Award for Excellence.

Dr Chen is also a dedicated medical educator providing education and mentoring to junior doctors and medical students. Furthermore, Dr Chen is devoted to deliver better therapeutic treatments for patients with kidney disease through cutting edge research, which is being conducted at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research.

Dr Henry Cheung

Colorectal and General Surgeon

Dr Henry Cheung is Colorectal and General Surgeon with interest in the management of colorectal cancers, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, proctology including haemorrhoids and anal fissures, hernias, skin and soft tissue lesions, endoscopies and colonoscopies.

Dr Cheung obtained his medical degree from University of New South Wales and undertook General Surgical training through Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals as well as their affiliated peripheral hospitals throughout NSW and ACT. During training, Dr Cheung also completed Master of Surgery in Colorectal Surgery from University of Sydney. After obtaining Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery, Dr Cheung went on to undertake further subspeciality training in Colorectal Surgery with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand at Concord Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. Dr Cheung has gained extensive experience in minimal invasive surgery in the management of colorectal and general surgical conditions.

Dr Cheung is a Colorectal Surgeon at Concord Hospital and a General Surgeon at Canterbury Hospital, where he is the Program Director of Surgery. Dr Cheung is also accredited at Strathfield Private Hospital and Macquarie University Private Hospital.

Dr Cheung is passionate about innovation, education and research through his involvement with the Concord Clinical School and Concord Institute of Academic Surgery.

Dr Cheung is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien.

Dr Benjamin Kwan

Consultant Endocrinologist

Dr Benjamin Kwan graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed specialist training in Endocrinology at Nepean Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital. He obtained his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2018 and completed a Master of Medicine (Metabolic Health) with the University of Sydney. Dr Kwan is a senior lecturer and academic co-ordinator at Concord Clinical School. He has expertise in holistic management of diabetes, obesity and metabolic health, osteoporosis, thyroid disorders, and adrenal and pituitary conditions.

Dr Kwan can speak conversational Cantonese.

Dr Philip Lee

Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Dr Philip Lee is a Respiratory and Sleep physician. He graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales and completed his specialist training at St Vincent’s and St George Hospitals. He is a consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at St George and Northern Beaches Hospitals. He has specific clinical and research interest in sleep medicine, COPD, respiratory failure and non-invasive ventilation.

Dr Lee has extensive experience in managing sleep disorders with a diverse range of clinical expertise in various Respiratory diseases. Dr Lee has received local and international awards for his research work with continuing research interests in COPD, respiratory failure and non-invasive ventilation.

He is also an expert advisor for Research Review Australia in COPD and has been an invited speaker at various local Respiratory and Sleep symposiums.

In 2016, Dr Lee has received the ST George Individual Volunteer Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the community.

Dr Lee is multi-lingual with proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Robert Tang
Dr Robert TangMBBS, MS, FRACS(Vasc).
Vascular Surgeon

Dr Robert Tang is an Australian-trained Vascular, Endovascular and Vascular Access Surgeon. He has appointments at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Nepean Hospital and Strathfield Private Hospital. He graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2006. He obtained his Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2013. In 2010, he started his surgical training in General Surgery and subsequently chose to subspecialise in Vascular Surgery.

He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. His special interests include peripheral vascular disease, extracranial carotid disease, aortic stenting, vascular access and venous pathologies including varicose veins. He also offers diagnostic vascular ultrasound service through the onsite Vascular Laboratory. He teaches undergraduate medical students regularly and is the co-convenor for the Master of Surgery (Vascular and Endovascular Surgery) course at the University of Sydney.

Kent Lin is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with special interest in endometriosis, infertility and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Kent is committed to providing holistic and evidence based care to women, both during their pregnancy and at any other stage of life when gynaecological issues arise.

Kent graduated from medical school at University of New South Wales, and obtained Master of Medicine in Reproductive Health Sciences and Human Genetics at the University of Sydney. Kent completed tertiary hospital training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
